The owners of this weekend house charged us with solving several problems:    softening an oversized deck, screening driveway from backyard, and simplifying plantings around a pond.   Deer resistance and low maintenance were important considerations.    Using carefully selected flowering shrubs, small trees, and tough perennials and ornamental grasses, we've created a simple and elegant retreat.
